No problem! You may be surprised to know that a lot of clients start their conversation with us with the words, ‘I know I need a new website, but…’ 

A lot of clients know that they need a new or refreshed site, but just can’t picture what it’ll look like. That’s where our experience and expertise count. 

We usually start with a video chat to get to know a bit more about you and what you want. Sometimes these chats are all about the site and sometimes it’s also about our favourite biscuits and what we plan to do at the weekend. They’re always very relaxed. 

After this chat, we deliver a proposal that covers the site map, colours, ideas for features/sections and what we think you need to make your site a success. This is intended to be a starting point, but often our clients say, ‘That’s it – you’ve got what I want exactly!’ 

Once that’s approved, we have a catch up and make any changes that are necessary and get on with it! Usually, clients know what they don’t want, even if they don’t know what they do want. We turn that knowledge into action and help develop your site to one that you love. 

That truly depends on how big you site is and how long it takes to develop. If you want a one page scrolling site, it could very well be live in days – if we have no other work on! However, it just depends. 

On average, we aim to have sites completed and live within a few weeks – but this depends very much upon us having everything we need to get on with the job. The bigger the site though, the longer it will take. 

WordPress is very popular and we can develop a WordPress website no problems. Equally, we can give you a site on any platform from WordPress to SquareSpace all the way to a bespoke coded project (and everything in-between).

A lot of clients prefer WordPress and its powerful content management system, we have many year’s experience in WordPress and can help you get the very best from that platform. Ultimately, we will recommend the best platform suitable for your project’s requirements, whether that is WordPress or something else!

The question that everyone asks and is ultimately the hardest to answer. It just depends! If you have a lot of whizz, bangs and wallops then it will cost more than a simple straight forward site. A site with many pages will cost more than one with one scrolling page. So, it really depends upon what you want. However, we will go through every cost with you, and we always ensure that our prices are highly competitive and the quality you receive for your money represents excellent value. 

This depends upon you. We can offer an on-going contract to keep the site maintained and up-to-date or we can send each other Christmas cards! We can be as involved as you want. Some clients want an on-going relationship whilst others are happy to run with their new sites. Usually, however, even those who want to run their sites will come back to us for additional work, which is lovely! So, it’s up to you! 

All websites require hosting. Web hosting is effectively the process of buying space to house a website on the World Wide Web. Website content such as HTML, CSS and images must be housed on a server to be viewable online.

We offer our own hosting package on secure UK-based servers. This allows us to manage your website and keep it safe, fast and up-to-date. As part of the package, you will also have a free domain email and also a crucial SSL certificate. Hosting is not just about cost, it’s about stability and security – but we make sure that what we offer is both competitive and secure. Usually around £10 a month.

SEO – or Search Engine Optimisation is a way to include details within your website that will help your site shuffle its way up the search engine ranking when someone searches for a business like yours. It is the process used to optimise a website’s technical configuration, performance and content so that your pages can become easily findable, more relevant and popular with search engines.

To keep it simple, if your site mentions the fact you’re a dentist in Knutsford a lot, and someone searches for a dentist in Knutsford, you are more likely to come higher in the rankings than the dentist who just loves to talk about teeth. 

Equally, some people think if you mention you’re a dentist in Knutsford a few times you’ll romp to No.1 on Google’s search rankings. Sadly, it doesn’t work like that (unless you are the ONLY dentist in Knutsford!)

If you want a ‘photographer’ in Cardiff or a ‘dry cleaners’ in Arbroath – chances are more than one company will want your business. As a result, several companies will compete to get above each other. Search engines offer a ladder to climb to the top with advertising, but that isn’t cheap by any means!

There is no limit to how many pages you can have on your new website. During the proposal, we will work with you to determine how many pages you are going to need. We will then create a proposal that reflects this.

All businesses are different, so the number of pages will vary. There is no set standard of the number of pages you need. If you prefer, we can also take the lead with this and advise you on how many and what pages we think you need. We will come at this from your customer’s perspective – to make sure you’re hitting the right audience and telling them what they need to know. 

If you already have a web address (domain) and associated email addresses, you can use them with your new website. We’ll build your new site on a temporary domain and when it is ready to go live, we will be able to make your existing addresses point to the new site.

A word to the wise… some websites can be developed ‘to be viewed on a mobile device.’ In other words, a bog-standard website that you can see on your browser on your phone. You know the ones – they never fit on the page, and you can never get the menu to work! We don’t do those. We do websites that are designed to adapt to the device they are on. So, ours are not just ‘viewable’ on a mobile device but designed with a mobile device in mind. This doesn’t cost more, it’s just about our standards and the quality we produce.
